Introduction

Kiss is more than a band with so much impact on the music industry and pop culture that it cannot be ignored. KISS is an American rock band that originated in New York City in 1973 and the band is characterized by its stunning performance, spectacular shows, and fusion of hard rock and dramatic acts. Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss, are names known to millions each having played a role in the creation of this unique band. The fools with painted faces and stage outfits, singing powerful, hard rock songs still exist as one of the most recognizable bands in the history of the world of rock’n’roll.

Formation and Early Years

Kiss was formed in January 1973 by Paul Stanley (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Gene Simmons (vocals, bass guitar). They were soon strengthened by drummer Peter Criss and lead guitarist Ace Frehley shortly after joining the band. The band initially faced many difficulties in finding its place in the music market of the early 1970s. They joined a lot of clubs and started practicing, and after some time they came up with a new look that mixed hard rock with glam rock.

Kiss’s first record, eponymous by name was released in 1974 with songs such as “Strutter” and “Nothin’ to Lose.” The album didn’t prove to be a huge success, however, it was their second album, Hotter Than Hell released in the latter part of that same year that started the formation of the band. Nonetheless, it was on the third album, Dressed to Kill, published in 1975, when ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’, a song that would become popular among fans, was recorded.
